Dear Joey & team, My old house is located exactly at a T-junction. There were a road (death end road & only 4-5 house) heading to my house before turning to left or right, will it bring all the bad "Qi" to my house? Heard from many if a house located right at the T-junction, the family will not having any peace and often quarrel among member. If is true, besides moving house, what are the option? We do have a neighbour which house is facing the T-junction, but looks like they are doing well. Hope you are able to assist. Regards, Fiona, Petaling Jaya.

Hi Joey I stay in a high rise condo (16th flr), may i know which is my main door - balcony door (whereby open to outside and there is a flow of Qi) or door that I enter day in day out? I heard before, once your condo is above certain level, there is a different way of looking at your house's fengshui, is it true?

Dear Joey, I am genuinely impressed by your TV Program. This is the 2nd posting of my questions & hope you can really advise me on my predicament. My period 7 house has a facing direction of NE2. I have a water feature located in the garden-- on the left and rear corner of my property--where the #8 Facing Star(i.e. West) is located. I was instructed by a San Yuan Feng Shui master not to place any water feature at the back of the house: as well as in the West sector. Kindly advise (1) Is it advisable to place water in the West sector with #8 Facing Star in period 8? (2) What are the direct/indirect spirit locations in period 8? (3) Is sleeping with the head pointing to one of favorable directions, but diagonally towards a wall corner acceptable in feng shui?. Thank you & Best Regards.

Dear Joey, Thanks for the great job in introducing fengshui the more scientific way, especially to the left-brained type people like me. I consider myself a 'advance amarteur' (just hobby, not practicing) in fengshui and is quite confused about certain things the more I read. 1. Some 'gurus' in Hongkong thrash '8 mansion' school saying it is not 'accurate' in their practice. Do you find it matches with reality in your experience? 2. What if 8-mansion and flying-stars gives totally opposite result? More 'gurus' in Hongkong advised to just look at flying star as it is more 'instant' & 'powerful'. Any research here? 3. I am of the impression that you don't believe in symbolic 'fengshui remedy' such as wind shime and crystal, but these remedies are claimed to be effective by many Hongkong 'gurus'. Have you done any research in this in your practice? Keep up the good job. Regards.

I am renting a room and the room's door is facing directly with the toilet's door. It's like a few steps away only. Will the toilet bring bad luck to me as I am sleeping in the room? My room is at the first floor and the room is also directly on top of the toilet at ground floor. Is it OK or if not, how can I prevent misfortune?

Dear Master Yap, I enjoyed your TV show very much. I have attended one fengshui course by another master where I was taught that under the 8 Mansions, the Sheng Chi is ALWAYS at the facing palace. And the element for Sheng Chi is wood. Therefore, it is auspicious to have a water feature near the main door entrance to the house. Is this true? Thank you for your taking your time to answer my question.

Firstly, could you answer this question for me: We have moved into an existing residence which has had a number of different owners, does this automatically make it a period 8 house because we moved into after march 2004? I know that if it is a new house that no-one has ever lived in automatically makes it period 8, but if the house is existing and has had a number of different owners, does this make it a period 7 house or period 8?

Dear Master Joey & Team I enjoy your brilliant show and has learn some basic ideas on what feng shui is all about. In one of the answer given for the Q&A, you mentioned that for apartment, you take the direction of the main building itself and superimpose the chart over your unit. I do not really understand what you mean. I cannot pin-point which is supposed to be the direction of building and how to superimpose the chart. Do I divide the building into 9 sectors or just my unit? Hope you can enlighten me. Thanks for your reply. Regards Chua Swee Peng

Dear Master Joey Yap, RE : DILIGENT STUDENT OF YOUR 8TV DISCOVER FENG SHUI SHOW. Thank your for sincerity and sharing with us your insight of Feng Shui on TV. You have shown us the steps to practice Feng Shui for our home. Many a times when we (laymen) heard about Feng Shui, many of us kept asking our inner soul whether it is true or does it works. But we still kept on placing "auspicious" item in our home, well what if it does? So many of us just buy it if we think it looks nice in our home. Now after seeing your shows and all your explaination, my family are so excited to draw out the nice equal square block to lay over their house plan. I had no problem to help my brothers and sisters to determined there Life Gua and House Gua following what i have learned from your TV show, for there are staying in a terrace houses and to determine the main door facing is quite straight forward. (Following those examples from your TV show). BUT I AM HAVING DIFFICULTIES IN DETERMINING THE HOUSE GUA FOR MYSELF FOR I AM STAYING IN AN APARTMENT.I DON'T KNOW WHICH DIRECTION TO FOLLOW. The apartment block is a U-shape. My is the centre block and there are the right and left wing block. My unit is on the 7th floor (Chinese 8th floor). My main door faces the opposite unit main door.fronting eachother. My main door (standing from inside looking out is E1) and looking behind me are the windows (W3). Looking out from this window is the guard house below and that is the main entrance from the outside road into the apartment inner road. Dear Mr Joey, which should i follow for the house gua. Is it sitting E1 or sitting W3. I am so happy and excited in helping my sister's and brother's but i am sad that i could not do it for my own home. Please help. I think there are a lot like me out there, staying in apartments having this same problem. I have tried to search for answera in your webpage and saw many questions on this in the Q&A but there are no clear definate answer. Hope you could show us, Master Joey. Be waiting for your reply and hope my mail will reach you personally. Thanks and we want you to know that if there is a SMS rating for your show, we are all out for you. Yours faithfully, Chan Seow Chong

Dear Joey, In the Eight Mansion Feng Shui Direction, it is mentioned that to tap ino a certain direction one have to position his/her table to "face" this direction. What do you mean by "face"? Is it similar to the bed scenario where one's headboard is the direction. Thank you & kind regards

Hi Joey, what is the theory of placing a mirror on the wall in the bathroom that is in line with the kitchen stove on the other side? Do I need to cover all water outlets in the bathroom, toilet bowl and basin? Thank You.

dear Mr Yap, I'm born in 19 Nov 1975, 10.25am. I would be grateful if I could have your opinion on front Gate of a landed house. I have read that it's advisable to have the gate designed with the centre portion being higher than the sides as this signifies the career peak. If the gate is consist of 2 panels of the sliding type (with a thin, obsecure metal post in the middle), can the 2 panels each having the centre portion higher, sloping down to the sides. When the gate is closed, there will be like 2 mountains with the centre portion being the lowest! Is the above gate acceptable? Or 1 big mountain in the centre of the 2 panels is a better design in term of Fengshui? Thank you very much.

In fact, I am quite blurr as what is the exact direction to take from the compass. When I put the compass in the middle of my living room, my main door is SW2 but when I go further in the living room, the directions changed, even so in the kitchen area when I put the compass in the kitchen. Actually where shall I place the compass to ascertain the correct directions? Pls advice. thanks.

Dear Masters, I have posed several questions but they were not answered though. It's ok. Anyway I hope this question will be entertained. I feel that the practice of feng shui is only based on some chinese classical texts but I am not sure they are really based on real and practical experience. If feng shui according to the ancient classical texts is to be believed, then occupants of West facing houses will definately receive ill effects because almost all the owners occupy the front master bedrooms which are located in negative sectors as the front three sectors are indeed 'bad' feng shui sectors. However, I know a number of people living in these houses but they do not suffer any ill effect. Can you please explain? Thanks. Jass
