Joey on NTV7’s Breakfast Show

October 10, 2008

Joey was recently invited to appear on the NTV7 Breakfast Show on October 10, 2008 to talk about Walking the Dragons. Interviewed by host Daphne Iking, Joey spent some time describing the background of the book and answered Daphne's thoughtful queries on the use and applicability of Feng Shui. In line with the book, Joey emphasised the origins of Classical Feng Shui in Landform observation and analysis, and explained to Daphne how the book clears up many misconceptions surrounding the Feng Shui of certain places in China. For example, Joey highlighted the bad Feng Shui of the Forbidden City, which took Daphne by surprise, as the common conception mistakenly attributed good Feng Shui to that location due its non-Feng Shui elements, such as the stone carvings and gilded bronze lions in the entrance. However, those elements have nothing to do with the actual Feng Shui of the area, as Joey pointed out!

Joey also further talked about the difference between Classical Feng Shui, in which landform formations plays a crucial role, compared to "modern" Feng Shui, which places undue emphasis on interiors. He also explained the role of Yin House Feng Shui, in response to Daphne's query, "If there is a graveyard in front of someone's apartment block, is it bad?" The answer is - that's more to do with superstition than anything else! The segment was a brief but informative discussion on Classical Feng Shui and its use and role in Ancient China. There was also a call-in segment featured on the show that enabled 5 viewers who called-in with their questions to win copies of Walking the Dragons.
