The weekend of 3rd and 4th July 2004 saw Joey Yap invited by Housing Developer Maddusalat Berhad to give a talk on Feng Shui for business to select Maddusalat patrons and club members of Kelab Golf Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah. The audience, made up of dignitaries as well as many homeowners came prepared to take some notes although many did confess that this was their first real exposure to classical Feng Shui.
Joey Yap's talk, held in the clubhouse of the famed Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Golf Club, Shah Alam, went smoothly and was well received. He first provided the audience an overview of Classical Feng Shui, touching on the significance and applications of Feng Shui in general. He also spoke in length about the difference between classical Feng Shui and what is popularly known as New-Age or 'pop' Feng Shui.
Joey Yap then progressed to the topic of Period 8; enlightening the audience
on what Period 8 really was, how a person could tap into the Qi of their home
without incurring major renovations and how a Period 7 house was still very
much viable in Period 8. The audience was seen to be elated to see some of the
Period 8 gossip doing the rounds be effectively dispelled by Joey Yap, others
were happy to note that their homes could do without the extensive renovation
that they had heard might be needed for Period 8.
A Q&A session was held for the audience and many of the questions focused
on what needed to be done to their homes for Period 8. Though it was brief,
the audience was very vocal and began asking very pertinent questions that left
Joey Yap with hardly a break between questions. He elaborated on each answer
with illustrations and peppered his commentaries with some witty quips that
made the audience chuckle.
The talk, ending on a bright, cheery Sunday on the 4th July, gave the Madddusalat Berhad patrons a clear understanding of easy-to-implement Feng Shui for business tips as well as a reassuring account of the Period 8 highs and lows. The more vocal patrons came up to Joey Yap to give him a personal thank you on such an enlightening talk towards the end of the session.
