The stage of the opulent StarCity Resort was set. The atmosphere was even tinged with an air of impatience, as a capacity – albeit still swelling - audience eagerly awaited Joey to make his maiden appearance in the city that hosted the 2000 Olympics. The Mastery Academy team and organizing personnel quickly ensured additional chairs were brought into the hall, to accommodate the growing crowd; many had registered only on the day itself and were still coming in even after Joey had started. The presence and support of representatives from the Australian Malaysian Singaporean Association (AMSA), Malaysian External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and HSBC Sydney amongst the crowd further served to lend a touch of prestige to the seminar.

Everything indeed looked set for a great day – and great show.

And a thunderous applause greeted Joey as he strolled onto the stage, and proceeded to greet his diverse mix of audience from various backgrounds – which consisted predominantly of Sydney dwellers. Those who attended (some of which came from as far as Melbourne, Queensland, Tasmania and even other parts of Oceania) must have found it timely to make that February 3rd date with Joey, given that the Chinese Solar Calendar heralded the start of the Year of the Fire Boar the following day!

True to his witty, down-to-earth demeanor, Joey warmed his audience up by sharing the overall prospects of 2007 with them. His discourse on issues pertaining to the main facets of life such as Relationships, Career, Health and Wealth saw many hands furiously scribbling on the seminar handbook that was provided to participants – no one wanted to miss a thing.

Following suit were discussions on the Annual Flying Stars for the year, with Joey dispensing advice on the dos, don’ts and sectors that are considered auspicious and inauspicious for the duration of 2007. Sprinkling the occasional anecdote and tip on Face Reading (Mian Xiang) here and there, the mood remained upbeat and lively throughout the day – and the responsive audience truly made Joey’s first ever seminar in Sydney a memorable one.

During the breaks, many attendees took the opportunity to meet Joey in person, while others got him to autograph his books that they had brought along with them. They were happy to have Joey personally in Sydney and they made the best of this time to clear up any questions they had.

All too soon, the day’s itinerary came to an end with Joey sharing with his listeners crucial tips on what awaits each Zodiac Animal in the Year of the Fire Boar.

And as hands once again roared their approval as Joey left the stage, all that’s left to be said is: Thank you Sydney, and I’ll be back!
