15 Jan 2006 - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
The main ballroom of Nikko Hotel, Kuala Lumpur was packed with only standing room left, for Joey Yap's annual Feng Shui and Astrology 2006 talk. An event that has become a must-attend for all Feng Shui enthusiasts in Malaysia.
The crowd began trickling in as early as 8am, to make sure that they would get good seats. By 9am, a full hour from when the event would kick-off, the registrations lines were already beginning to grow and snake around the foyer outside the Grand Ballroom. The crowd began to swell and the excitement in the air was steadily growing.
Many of the seminar participants who came early also took the opportunity to take a quick survey of the many new programs, tools and courses available to them, at the Mastery Academy booths located outside the Grand Ballroom. The latest Joey Yap innovation, the Mini Feng Shui Compass was quickly snapped up by the eager seminar attendees.
The seminar participants included guests from all over the world; USA, UK, Belgium, Turkey, Spain, as well as the Mastery Academy Instructors who had come from all over the world to attend the Feng Shui and Astrology Talk for 2006. Many of the overseas seminar attendees had also planned for this many months in advance, "I took time off from work and bought my tickets in November just to be sure I would be able to listen to Mr. Joey Yap speak today", said Kumar from India.
“I'm actually surprised at how Feng Shui is so simple and easy to apply. What Joey said about using your common sense in applying Feng Shui is so true. Now I'm excited to practice it on my own. Thanks for this seminar and I will definitely be here for the next!”
- Jonathan Chen, Kuantan
Corporate clients of the Mastery Academy and Yap Global Consulting were also on hand to add their support and at the same time, learn what the year held in store for them and their organisation. Members of the media were also in attendance, both to cover the event as well as to take this opportunity to learn how they could make the best of the year of the Fire Dog. By 10am, most of the attendees were already seated and extra chairs had to be added to accommodate additional last-minute attendees. Even the small space reserved for walking was quickly taken up as the crowd chatted away in anticipation of what the year ahead would hold for them.
The applause was deafening as Joey Yap took to the stage and launched into his talk. His introduction to classical Feng Shui, for the benefit of any first-time attendees of the talk was necessary to ensure all present understood the fundamentals of classical Feng Shui. Joey mentioned the importance of looking at external forms, the mountains and rivers in the vicinity of one's property, in addition to formula-based assessments like Flying Stars. To clarify any misconceptions, he also added a gentle reminder that the year of the Fire Dog only officially begins on February 4th, as the Chinese Solar calendar is used for Feng Shui and Astrology calculations.
The morning tea break gave the attendees an opportunity to learn more about Face Reading from the Mian Xiang DVD that was on show in the foyer. In between their coffee, many crowded around the Courses booth to learn when they could attend the next available course on Feng Shui, BaZi or Face Reading with Joey. Still, others took the opportunity to speak to the Mastery Academy Instructors and clarify any questions they might have. These varied from BaZi questions on their own life to Feng Shui questions about their home and office. The Instructors answered as many as they could but soon it was time for the attendees to take their seats again for the next half of the morning session.
"This is the first time I’m attending a talk by Joey Yap and I must admit that I very impressed by the knowledge that he has. His style of presentation is really outstanding and his explanation is easy to understand. I used to have this mentality that Feng Shui is all about buying objects and placing them in strategic places in the home, but now he has opened my eyes on how Feng Shui really works and I’m grateful for that.” - Rajen Krishnan, Kuala Lumpur
By the time the talk broke for lunch at 1pm, the attendees were all seen quickly buying Joey's book on Face Reading as well as snapping up the Mini Feng Shui Compass that would be necessary for them to take the relevant direction of their property. Although the Mastery Academy booths were swamped by many eager seminar attendees, the staff were on hand to make sure the participants were quickly attended to and managed to get their books or DVD programs.
Post-lunch, the session was even more exciting as Joey skilfully blended of Feng Shui, Astrology and Face Reading into his annual talk. This was designed to ensure that everyone in the room, no matter what their level of knowledge of Feng Shui or Chinese Metaphysics, walked away with something they could use or implement in their home or simply to give them a clearer indication of which way the winds of fortune will blow for them in 2006.
“All I can say is that this talk has equipped me with the knowledge to face the challenges of this coming year with confidence. His explanation is more detailed and clear compared to other Feng Shui Masters that only put emphasis on buying their products.” - Janet Lim, Kuala Lumpur
The book signing session, held during the afternoon tea break was a huge success, with many participants having no choice but to give coffee a miss in order to ensure they could get Joey Yap to personally autograph their book. Many who had not managed to meet Joey Yap in person before also took this opportunity to shake his hand or take a photo with him. Once again, the line snaked on for quite a length in the foyer outside the Grand Ballroom, but the organisers ensured that the attendees were well taken care of.
For those looking to gain some insight into the economic trends in 2006, in the final session of the day, Joey delved into how certain industries, based on the 5 Elements, would progress in the year of the Fire Dog. Those businessmen and share market punters were seen quickly making notes on how they could make the best of this information.
“Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge to us. It is the best gift anyway can give me for the Chinese New Year.” - Wong Kar Ping, Muar – Johor
The day's session ended with Joey discussing the Astrology of the year for the animal signs in the Chinese Zodiac. As the crowd streamed out for the final time from the hall, it was clear that they had not only had a good time but were going to go home with some valuable knowledge on the year of the Fire Dog.
