Joey Yap's 'Thriving in Challenging Times' seminar made its US stop at the lovely and welcoming city of San Francisco on March 28th, 2009. The event took place at the beautiful venue of the Sheraton Fisherman's Wharf Hotel in the city on a Saturday, between 10 AM and 3 PM. The event was attended by Ms. Rose Chung, Legislative Aide to Mr. David Chiu, President of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors.
The excitement and bustle that took place right before the start of the seminar was nothing compared to the excitement shown when Joey took to the stage to the sound of loud music and much applause. Before he launched into his morning session, however, Joey and Ms. Chung together presented tokens of appreciation to the sponsors of the event who were in attendance.
The filled-to capacity crowd in the hall was at full attention when Joey launched into the first segment of the seminar, providing them with an overview of the Feng Shui and BaZi outlook for 2009, year of the Earth Ox. In this section, Joey gave an always-insightful commentary on the outlook for the year from an economic perspective. This was based on the industry forecast for the year, using the Five Elements of Chinese Metaphysics as the reference point.
Next up was the outlook for the year from a BaZi (astrological) perspective. This is always a highly-anticipated session in Joey's yearly seminars as Joey always probes deeper into the BaZi beyond the typical 12 animal signs that most are familiar with.
After this session, it was time for the lunch break, which saw the participants browsing through the booths that had been set up outside. Many were keen to learn more about Joey's books, tools, and software that were on sale. At this point too, members of the press who were in attendance grabbed the opportunity to speak to Joey and ask him questions of interest.
The session after the lunch break resumed with the Astrology forecast, but this time with a deeper focus. This was the time during which participants cracked out their pre-printed BaZi charts and got to work! Many were seen to be taking down notes and concentrating, as Joey revealed important BaZi reading techniques and interpretative skills to help participants make sense of their own BaZi. The BaZi analysis then segued into the Face Fortune segment of the seminar. This was a truly eye-opening session, as audience members were shown how certain parts of the face directly correlate with different areas of one's life, and this was also tied to the different animal signs.
The seminar's closing segment was an important one, as it focused on Date Selection and provided with participants with the Good Dates to look out for during the year. Besides providing them with the dates, Joey also explained to the audience the significance of these dates, and the techniques by which they could activate the good energy therein.
The seminar ended with a Q & A session that saw Joey taking many varied and interesting questions from enthusiastic and curious participants. After this session, Joey then went out and signed books for those present. Again, he was surrounded by plenty of people eager to get his autograph and keen to exchange a few words with him in private, or just to take a few photographs.
Joey's Feng Shui and Astrology outlook for 2009 thereby ended on a high note with this final international stop during the series. It was definitely a memorable experience for all those present in the always-charming and scenic city of San Francisco!
