EVER wondered what your basic personality, core strength and weaknesses are?

Ever wondered how to utilise the personality profiling to understand your child and guide them to greatness? Well, here is your chance, because you are in luck to have Joey Yap, the author and founder of Mastery Academy of Chinese Metaphysics together with Dr Lawrence Walter Ng, Jessie Lee and U2 Kumar for "Empower Your Child's Future" seminar. This seminar will take place on June 5, 2011 at Manhattan II, Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. I had a lifetime opportunity to interview Joey Yap, and this is what he had to say about the seminar.

Q: How did the idea to have a workshop for kids come up?

A: Actually, the idea came up when Dr Lawrence and I did an event together and decided to combine soft skills with metaphysics. What we plan to do is to analyse a person's character and after that, Dr Lawrence and his team will introduce the soft skills. Actually, a person's character can be an asset or a liability. We want to train and educate kids from young to turn their characters into assets, using the skills.

Q: Could you tell us briefly about the seminar and what we can look forward to?

A: There are going to be four sessions conducted. I will be addressing the first part, where it emphasises on a person's personality as an asset or a liability. You will get to know how you can expand your capacity from a "giver" to a "multiplier". As a parent, you can learn the skills to understand the personality of your children through the profiling system.

Q: How does the personality profiling system work and how can it help parents and children to make the right decision for the child's future?

A: Everyone is familiar with many personality tests. What we are going to do is take the birthdate and produce a chart. There are actually two parts of a person - character and talent. If you know a person's character, you can work on the weaknesses and strengths. And Dr Lawrence will provide you the needed soft skills to make it happen.

Q: How accurate is the Personality Profiling System?

A: It is highly accurate in explaining a person's basic personality and core strengths and weaknesses. The Joey Yap Personality Profiling System is very useful to help parents and individuals to develop and influence everyone to greatness. If the kids learn how to maximise their talents and improve their character since young, they can achieve their path to success earlier. People who think that personality and character are the most important thing, they should definitely come for this seminar. At the end of the day, it's about you.

Q: Could you tell us what the three levels of the Personality Pofiling System?

A: The first one is about character, the second one is the behavioural mode and the third one is talents or gifts. It's better to discover it early. There is a path of least resistance to success. The earlier you discover the path, the earlier the child can move towards his greatness in life.

Q: Once a child's profile is determined, what is the next step to take?

A: It requires three things. The first thing is having the right skills, the second is to improve the thinking and lastly, having a strategy to grow and excel through your characters that can be an asset.

Q: Would it be too late for us teens to change our career?

A: No, absolutely not because kids or teens have not even started their careers yet! It is the best time to pursue their career path. If you can create a path yourself now, you already have won half the battle because you have the right skills and knowledge.

Q: What advice can you share with us teens on choosing the right career path?

A: The best is to know what you are good at. There is a difference between what you can do and what you will do. If you don't know what you can do, then what will you do? We will provide you with the techniques.
