I am born on Jan 13, 1954. According the the year I am a horse, but I have been told since I was born before the Chinese New Year (which usually falls end of Jan or in Feb), it makes me a snake. So what is my true animal sign? Thank you.

Dear Tina, you are indeed born in the year of the SNAKE. The cut of date for the Solar New Year is Feb 4th - not Chinese New Year which belongs to the Lunar calendar. Those born prior to Feb 4th belong to the 'previous' year. Cheers, SN
