Please I would be grateful if you could clearify if the location in the Northern or Southern hemisphere does change the interpretation of the various direction in the Feng Shui reading ? Not good to face main door North (Cold winter wind from Pole??) in Northern hemisphere. What about in the Southern hemisphere? Prehaps facing South? Cold winter wind from the South pole? Many F.S. experts do not seem not to take that into consideration? Considering the lopan was adjusted from the old world to the new world when the "original" Chinese moved from Akadia (Iraq) to China many (5-6??) thousands year ago??? Thank you.

Dear Edmund, allow me answer to your question with another question: Does the compass switch from North to South when you move from the one hemisphere to the other? The needle always points the same direction. It is not true that facing North is bad, or facing South is good. That's a MYTH. Feng Shui has nothing to do with the local weather. Instead, Feng Shui is only concerned with what kind of mountains and water formations you have in the vicinity. Depending on the needs of the occupants and the setup of the external environment, a building can face almost any direction. In fact, in Feng Shui 24 directions are available for use(3 sub-divisions from the major 8 directions). A LuoPan is just a compass - the rings on the plate are merely inscribed with Feng Shui formulae and calculations - nothing too special, and I trust does not matter whether it moved from place to place. I hope this gives you a better prespective on what Feng Shui is about - it's what you find outside, what kind of Qi, and how to 'receive' it into the property. Simple. Cheers, SN
