In Bazi , you talk about a strong day master and a weak day master . Is there such thing as a neither strong nor weak day master . ie something like a Medium /Average day master . If yes , wouldnt it be the ideal day master , since it is neither strong nor weak , so I assume that all the 5 resources like wealth , resource, companion, output , influence, would be favourable and the Qi in that particular person BAZI would be ideally balanced ? Sometimes I think decoding a BAZI is subject to how we look at it , as there are so many possible interpretations . What might seem okay , ideal to you ,may well be interpreted differently as the 2nd person may put more weight on the other elements involved , especially the hidden stems . What about the heavenly stems , do they have less significance then the earthly branches or hidden stems . If so , why do we sometimes put more weight on the heavenly stems.?

Dear Tay, a balanced chart is a superior chart. Strong but not overly strong, weak but not too weak - these Day Masters are able to 'utilize' each of the 5 Elements better. That is why we see that not everyone can be Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, or a Prime Minister. In BaZi, there are two possible interpretations - the RIGHT one and the WRONG one. There's a big difference whether a person is (a) going thru good or bad luck, (b) going to get promoted or beaten up, (c) having problems with his eyes or feet, etc. With the right fundamentals, a BaZi practitioner must be able to tell all these things - and these are considered BASIC. The Heavenly Stems appear on top like flowers on a tree. Cut them and they can grow back eventually. The Hidden Stems inside the Branches are the ROOTS of a tree - cut the roots and well, the ENTIRE tree might fall. Do you see which has more weight? EVERY chart has it's 'key' and 'use'. 'Bad' charts do normally mean a more difficult life - but hey, a person with a tough life still has to live and eat, right? The role of BaZi is to try and make the best out of every situation, to DO the right thing at the right time. Hope this will give you a more practical yet optimistic understanding on BaZi now.
