I would like to seek your advice. I was borned in Aug 1966 and my spouse borned in May 1967. I had moved to this house since year 28th Nov 2001 and seems never bring me a good luck, wealth and health too. My house is a double story terrace. The main door is facing NW. My master bedroom also located at NW. To improve the situation, I have been advised that to change to period 8 but in order to do that I must to open the roof. I plan to do a renovation next year 2006 (after CNY) Question: 1) Does this recommended in Fengshui practice to open the roof? 2) If I wanted to open the roof, does this mean that I need to open the roof in the hall at the staircase? Can I open in one of the bed room instead because my staircase roof is very high and quite difficult to do the renovation work? 3) What is the size of the roof hole need to open? 4) How many days shall leave the roof open before close it back? Dear CS NG, 1. It is not recommended to change the period. If all else fails then this is a final option. 2. If you wish to change the period of the house you will need to remove the WHOLE roof and leave it open for about 1 - 2 weeks. All the elements (rain included)need to come into the house in order for the period to change. You will also need to install a new main door. Now, some suggestions to try first, before you resort to changing the period. I am not sure whose date of birth is the husband who is the wife so I cannot use your gua. The house faces NW, therefore sits SE. This is an east house. This means that your favourable sectors, for all people who live in the house are N, S, E, SE. Try to locate your main door, main bedroom, study in these sectors. Your Kitchen should be in a bad sector for the house. Then in the main bedroom, try to FACE your personal good DIRECTION. The other thing to look out for, if the house is not good, is poison arrows or sha qi. Make sure that no telephone poles, light poles, end of buildings, corners of buildings, etc are opposite your main door. Try these before you go to the expense of changing the period. Regards Di
