Day 1 - High Level Mountain at Lu Shan

September 19, 2014

On Day 1, the Feng Shui excursion began in earnest with an 8.00 am start. The first stop, Mount Lu Shan, was a 3-hour journey away.

The 3 hours passed quickly as Dato' Joey provided a brief orientation for the students, who are a mixed group of very experienced and very new students of Feng Shui, enroute. Important points of note were:

  • The province that we are visiting, Jiangxi Province, had produced:-
    • 144 Prime Ministers
    • 5442 Imperial Officers
    • 300 Top Generals
  • In Feng Shui - mountain governs people while water governs opportunities for wealth. As such, seeing that Jiangxi has produced so many people of high rank, students should pay attention to the mountain formations.
  • In China, the Dragons originate from the Kun Lun Mountain and from there, they branched out to 7 Trunk Mountains, one of them being Jiangxi.
  • Jiangxi is not as prosperous as other provinces, yet, the mountain range moving from Northeast to Southwest in the area indicates that the Qi sources at this province is timely.
  • Looking at the province in terms of property investment, you know that Jiangxi will grow into a prosperous province in the near future. In this era it will produce the future leaders of China.

MeiLu Villa

Our first stop was MeiLu Villa on Mount Lu Shan. MeiLu Villa was Chiang Kai Shek's Summer Villa. Many important decisions that affected China during that era were made here. Interestingly MeiLu Villa was the place where the two great rivals, Chiang Kai Shek and Mao Ze Dong, met. Ultimately, Mao Ze Dong took over the Villa after Chiang Kai Shek was defeated.

However, we arrived to poor weather – it was drizzling, cold and windy and mist had formed over Mount Lu Shan and the Villa. As nothing can be seen clearly, Dato' Joey got the students to pull out the Qi Men Dun Jia Chart of the hour to do a remote viewing of the place instead. It gave an amazingly accurate result. Although the Villa was covered with mountain mist, students were able to see that the problem area, a mountain gap, appeared on the Northeast sector of this Villa externally as indicated in the Qi Men Chart.

Dato' Joey also explained how to best utilize the Villa by tapping into the West Military Art formation, turning this Summer Holiday Villa into a place suitable for a short home stay.

Zhou En Lai's Villa

The Qi Men Chart also showed some interesting facts, that Dato' Joey and the students picked up along the way to the second stop - Zhou En Lai's Villa, which was located opposite MeiLu Villa. Zhou En Lai, as many would know, was the first Premier of the People's Republic of China, serving from October 1949 until his death in January 1976.

  • The river flows from the right to the left exiting toward the South direction
  • As we walked up the Main Door of Zhou En Lai's Villa, we noticed that the ground was higher toward the Villa.
  • Students were given a short briefing and then 10 minutes to assess the Villa to locate its problem.
  • After the students regrouped, Dato' Joey explained that this Villa is not ideal because there is Cutting Feet water formed by a bridge and the water qi flows out toward the South, negatively affecting the residents, especially the woman of the house. This is confirmed by Lee Lee, our tour guide while she was briefing us about the history of Zhou En Lai and his wife.

Mao Ze Dong's Villa

After a good lunch we moved the third stop - Mao Ze Dong's Villa. Making our way through the highlands, we noticed a huge majestic lake located nearby the villa where we were heading. Dato' Joey explained to the students that this Villa taps into the Qi of the lake in front of the Villa and not the source of Qi from the vein of the meridian spot, which released from the mountain at the back of property.

He took the students to the other side of the lake to see the majestic view of this Feng Shui formation. Here the students could see the Incoming Dragon, Guardian of the Water Mouth, Left and Right Embrace of the Heavenly Pool formed around the lake in front of Mao Tse Tung's Villa.

Students were clearly awed by the beauty of the formations and they learned so much about the landforms through the simple explanation from Dato' Joey. The mountain around this area is primarily of metal form which is suitable for political power and authority.

Wu Lao Shan (Five Old Man Peaks)

After assessing Mao Ze Dong's Villa, Dato' Joey and his students headed for the last stop, the Wu Lao Shan, which gave an amazing birds' eye view of the province.

At the top of the peak, Dato' Joey explained that no meridian spot is formed in this area, one of the reasons being there is no water formation around this area. Interestingly, the area forms a reversing mountain formation called the Big Sword Stabbing into the North Quadrant with a Broken Soldier Mountain in the North. The Nobleman under the Canopy formation is also spotted in this area.

The day ended with a lavish dinner with everyone feeling tired but still brimming with excitement and looking forward to the next day.
