Students converged at the Mastery Academy on Sunday, September 27 for the Xuan Kong Mastery Series Module 2B: Purple White. Taught personally by Joey Yap, this advanced Xuan Kong class was largely made up of practitioners and upper level students who were there to study the sophisticated techniques of advanced Xuan Kong Feng Shui.

Joey last taught this professional level course several years ago, and students were understandably excited and elated to have this rare opportunity to study the Purple White syllabus under his tutelage. This time, the course was taught with an updated syllabus and an extra reference text - namely, the Xuan Kong Purple White Script. The Purple White Script, transliterated by Hung Hin Cheong and with a detailed foreword by Joey Yap, proves to be the first-ever English version of the text that provides the Upper and Lower Scrolls of the Script. It proved to be a must-have resource for the students as they laboured over the intensive and sophisticated concepts and teachings of the Xuan Kong Purple White.

After spending some time ensuring that students had acquainted themselves with the Purple White Fundamentals, Joey delved into the concepts of the Purple White Nine Stars, and the Purple White Combinations.

But students were there for the one factor that separates Joey's Xuan Kong Purple White course from all the others - the analysis and study of the Upper Scrolls of the Purple White Script. While the Lower Scrolls have been studied all this while because it imparts the applications, the Upper Scrolls have largely been overlooked as it focuses on the concepts and is largely obscured by its complicated nature, and shrouded in an obscure language style of ancient times.

These concepts include the 8 Mystical Doorways, House Master, Period Master, and the Year Replace Year, Month Replace Month, Floor Replace Palace, and Entrance Replace Rooms.

It was a valuable course for the students who showed up expecting to learn the specialised techniques of the Xuan Kong Purple White, and they indeed got all that they hoped for - and more. Under Joey's experienced guidance and tutelage, the students learned how to incorporate these techniques and concepts into their practice of Xuan Kong Feng Shui.
