Question Posted: 5 Nov 2005 at 12:00:00 AM
How do you determine the period of a house? My new house faces N1 and was built in 1962. It had a new roof, front door and new floors installed in 2001 (after a fire), sat vacant for 1.5 years (except for people coming through with their realtors to look at it) and now I am moving into it in 2005. Is it a period 6, 7 or 8 house? I am urgently requesting your reply as my husband and I have had tremendous bad luck over the past 6 years and I want to put my water feature, etc. in just the right spot. My husband is a 1 and I am an 8 gua. Thank you for your help.

Dear Lahlah, Your house should be regarded as a period 8 house for two reasons. The period probably changed after the rebuilding and also because you have moved back in, after a period of not living there, again in 2005 which is period 8. But only you will be able to see if it is ACTUALLY period 6 or a period 8 house. Draw up 2 charts and see which is more reflective of the qi pattern of your house by referring to areas which have stars which will be quite specific to you. Just compare them. Regards Di
